Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Commercial Chiller Service Technician with demonstrated extensive experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing chilled water equipment and the systems and controls associated with them. Self-starter with the motivation to work with and mentor other team members. The ideal candidate has the desire to use their advanced skills in a team oriented environment where the only limitation is their imagination!

Responsibilities
  • Using necessary service literature, can service, perform maintenance on, and repair all commercial industrial chillers.
  • Performs new system start-ups and repairs on air conditioning and chillers
  • Direct expansion constant volume, multiple circuited/compressor AC equipment.
  • Water-cooled AC units up to 100 tons.
  • Water source heat pumps and associated equipment.
  • Computer room type units with self-contained humidifiers and controls.
  • Non-BAS, pneumatic, electronic, and modular DDC temp controls.
  • Water and Air-cooled chillers equipped with centrifugal, reciprocating, scroll and screw compressors.
  • Electronic controls incorporated with most packaged water chillers.
  • Electronic Variable Speed Drives typically connected to VAV air handlers, pumps, towers, etc.
  • Electro-mechanical motor starters, up to 480 volts, and associated controls.
  • Chilled and condenser water pipe and pump systems equipped with variable speed drives.
  • Electronic/variable speed starters.
  • Electronic and computer controlled digital temp control systems.
  • Utilize the BAS system to diagnose and repair system problems and components.
Qualifications

Experience, Training, and/or Certifications:

  • 5 or more years of Chiller service in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • EPA universal certification preferred.
  • Experience with RTU, air handlers, split systems, chilled water, VAV and fan coils.

  • Requires mechanical aptitude, mathematical, and English language skills.

  • Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter.
  • Excellent communication and customer services skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional demeanor and positive, caring attitude.
  • Must be able to work independently and without supervision.
  • Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with blueprint, schematic, drawings, and other equipment layout materials.
  • Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening.
  • Ability to pass a physical ability test.
